We're excited to bring you the May 2026 edition of our SAMS monthly series, packed with a complete round-up of everything that changed across the world's major sanctions lists this month.

May turned out to be a busy month on the global sanctions front, with 679 individuals, entities and vessels added in total. Leading the pack this time, the State Secretariat for Economic Affairs (SECO), Switzerland expanded its list with 169 entities, 38 individuals and 45 vessels. Close behind, the Office of Foreign Assets Control (OFAC), USA added 97 entities, 68 individuals and 28 vessels, while the United Kingdom Consolidated Sanctions List brought on 98 individuals and 52 entities.

Rounding out the month, the Department of Foreign Affairs and Trade Sanctions List, Australia flagged 33 individuals along with 6 entities, Global Affairs Canada's Consolidated Canadian Autonomous Sanctions List added 23 individuals and 5 entities, and Japan's Ministry of Finance rounded things off with 17 individuals.
