July 2026 brought another wave of global sanctions activity, with 605 new records added across key international sanctions programs. The month's updates included 262 individuals, 313 entities, and 30 vessels, reflecting continued regulatory action across multiple jurisdictions.
Driving the majority of additions was the U.S. Office of Foreign Assets Control (OFAC), which recorded 292 new designations, including 143 individuals, 120 entities, and 29 vessels. This represented nearly half of all sanctions updates published during the month.
The European Union Consolidated Sanctions List followed closely, contributing 222 new entries made up of 173 entities and 49 individuals, highlighting the EU's continued focus on expanding enforcement measures. The United Kingdom Consolidated Sanctions List accounted for 54 additions, while the United Nations Security Council introduced 15 new designations. Additional updates were issued by Australia (9 records), Switzerland (8 records), Canada (4 records), and Japan (1 record).
Every new designation was captured and updated within the SAMS database in real time, ensuring organizations have access to the latest sanctions intelligence for effective screening, monitoring, and compliance management.
