We are pleased to present the January 2026 edition of our SAMS monthly series, which provides you with a comprehensive overview of the monthly modifications to all significant international sanctions lists.

In January 2026, 227 individuals, vessels, and entities were added to the list of major sanctions worldwide. Leading the list, the United States’ OFAC added 36 individuals, 48 entities, and 10 vessels to its sanctions database.

SECO Switzerland, which led the additions in December, recorded 25 individuals, 15 entities, and 42 vessels during the month. Global Affairs Canada sanctioned 38 individuals and 5 entities, while the United Kingdom updated its consolidated sanctions list with 5 individuals and 3 entities.

All these names were updated in our proprietary database in real time, ensuring our clients always stay globally and locally compliant.
