The September 2025 SAMS update captures key changes across major international sanctions regimes, offering a consolidated view of the latest global designations.
During the month, 699 individuals and entities were newly sanctioned worldwide. The UK HM Treasury recorded the largest volume, adding 47 individuals, 190 entities, and 72 vessels. This was followed by the Japan Ministry of Finance, which sanctioned 139 businesses and 51 individuals, and the U.S. OFAC, which added 131 names.
Additional updates included 61 new designations by Australia’s Department of Foreign Affairs and Trade and 8 individuals sanctioned by SECO Switzerland.
All updates were ingested into the SAMS proprietary database in real time, supporting continuous global and local sanctions compliance.
