The October 2025 edition of the SAMS monthly update reflects a sharp rise in global sanctions activity, covering changes across key international authorities.
A total of 1,010 individuals and entities were added to sanctions lists worldwide. Once again, the UK HM Treasury led the updates with 163 individuals, 251 entities, and 49 vessels. The U.S. OFAC followed closely, sanctioning 265 businesses, 73 individuals, and 33 vessels, while SECO Switzerland added 98 names.
Further actions were taken by the European Union, which imposed sanctions on 69 entities, and the United Nations, which listed 5 individuals. The Japan Ministry of Finance also sanctioned 4 individuals during the month.
