We are pleased to present the August 2025 edition of our SAMS monthly series, which provides you with a comprehensive overview of the monthly modifications to all significant international sanctions’ lists.
In August 2025, 383 individuals and groups were added to the list of major sanctions worldwide. Again leading the list, SECO Switzerland added 23 individuals, 80 entities and 105 vessels to its database. The United States’ OFAC sanctioned 53 businesses, 8 vessels and 33 individuals, while the United Kingdom’s HM Treasury sanctioned 45 names.
Global Affairs Canada sanctioned 17 individuals and 7 entities, and 6 names were added by the UN’s Security Council to the list.
5 individuals were sanctioned by the Japan Ministry of Finance and 1 individual by the European Union.
All these names were updated in our proprietary database in real time, ensuring our clients always stay globally and locally compliant.
