Shaping the Future of AI and Model Risk in the UK and EU
On October 23, 2025, Solytics Partners hosted the AI and MRM Conclave UK 2025 at etc. Venues Monument in London. The event brought together senior risk leaders, regulators, and AI innovators to explore how Model Risk Management (MRM) and AI governance are evolving under new regulatory expectations like PRA SS1/23 and the EU AI Act.
The Conclave offered an interactive platform for insightful discussions, hands-on demonstrations, and cross-industry knowledge sharing on the responsible adoption and assurance of AI, ML, and Generative AI models in regulated environments.
Key Highlights from the Event:
1. Practical Workshops on Governance and Validation
The day began with two interactive workshops led by experts from Solytics Partners and industry leaders.
Workshop 1 – Governance of AI and Model Risk in Regulated Environments
Speakers: Alberto Ramirez (Partner - Risk Analytics) and Prithivi P (Head of Technology & Innovations)
Participants explored how organizations can build centralized model inventories, establish risk tiering aligned to PRA SS1/23 and the EU AI Act, and operationalize governance through lifecycle gates and automated monitoring. The session featured a live walkthrough of MRM Vault, Solytics Partners’ model governance platform that integrates policy-as-code enforcement and audit-ready workflows.
Workshop 2 – Validation and Testing of AI/ML and GenAI Models in Practice
Speakers: Agus Sudjianto (Senior Advisor) and Kannan Venkataramanan (GenAI Validation SME)
This session showcased how institutions can validate LLMs and Generative AI systems through scalable frameworks. Participants learned about robustness and safety tests, fairness and stability audits, and explainability checks using Solytics’ Nimbus Uno and MoDeVa platforms.
2. Thought-Provoking Panel Discussion
The highlight of the evening was the panel discussion on “The Future of AI Risk and Model Governance in the UK and EU – Ground Realities and 2025 Priorities.”
The panel featured distinguished leaders:
- Agus Sudjianto, Senior Advisor, Solytics Partners
- Catarina Souza, Head Model Development and Review Division, Bank of England
- Julian Phillips, Head of Model Risk Management for CIB and AI, HSBC
- Tanveer Bhatti, Early-Stage Thesis-Driven Partner
- Vivek Sayal, Head of Model Strategy and NFR Analytics, Virgin Money
Moderated by Alberto Ramirez, the discussion covered critical regulatory themes and practical approaches to managing AI and LLM risks. Topics included explainability, fairness, hallucination control, and the convergence of global governance standards. Panelists emphasized that collaboration across innovators, regulators, and practitioners is key to building responsible and scalable AI ecosystems.
3. Networking and Collaboration
The evening concluded with a networking cocktail and dinner, where attendees exchanged ideas on the operationalization of responsible AI, shared regulatory insights, and explored opportunities for collaboration. The conversations reflected a shared understanding, governance must evolve in step with innovation, and automation is the bridge that will define the future of AI assurance.
